BAJA QUICK FACTS

The rumors for the 2010 race are that it will be a full peninsula course.  The last full run was in 2007

54 teams were in our class in 2007 (Sportsman > 250cc engine) and only 41% finished.  The class leader took 31 hours to complete the course, averaging 41mph

Since some sections of the course are wide open desert and highway where you can hit 60 mph+,there are a lot of sections with very rough terrain and of course, the dreaded silt beds.  And then there is riding at night ... in the desert!

So, what is Team DBBL doing Right Now?  We are training, racing and preparing.

We have learned that managing logistics (along with a little luck) will most likely be the single biggest factor in our ability to simply finish the race.  That said, the team has already sent two of its members (Don & Scott) to work for a pit crew at the 2009 Baja 1000.  The opportunity to work the pits provided the team with access to experienced racers and support teams who have “been there and done that” enabling us a much better opportunity to plan and anticipate.

We formally meet on a routine basis to plan all aspects of this big event.  We are recruiting a chase / support team from our pool of friends who have unique skills and talents to help enable our success and to manage the logistics and support required in a third world country.

We are each working on personal fitness plans to improve our stamina and strength in order to enhance our ability to race at the peak of our personal abilities - safely.

And naturally, we are racing!

Below is our most recent news (via Twitter) and a grid of races to date and proposed events that some or all of us plan to participate in this year leading up to the event.
